Terms and conditions

1. Purpose
This document sets out the conditions for renting vehicles from the fleet of MK Premium Rent a Car SRL ("Monte Rent") through the monterent.ro website or direct contact channels (phone, email). The Romanian version prevails in case of discrepancies.
2. Driver requirements
The driver must hold a driving licence valid for at least 2 years and a valid ID card or passport, and must meet the minimum age specified for the chosen car category. An additional fee may apply to drivers under 25.
3. Booking and deposit
A booking is confirmed after checking availability and the required documents. A refundable security deposit is taken at handover; its amount is specified for each model.
4. Insurance
All cars in the fleet are covered by third-party liability (RCA) and basic comprehensive (CASCO) insurance. The client may opt for premium insurance packages with reduced or zero excess, at an extra cost.
5. Mileage and use
Each booking includes a mileage allowance, specified on each car's page. Exceeding the allowance is charged at the displayed per-kilometre rate. The car may not be driven outside Romania without purchasing the cross-border option.
6. Cancellation policy
Cancellation is free if notified at least 48 hours before the pickup date. Later cancellations may incur a fee of up to 20% of the total booking value.
7. Liability
The client is liable for any damage to the vehicle caused by their fault, up to the excess set by the chosen insurance policy. Any fines or road charges incurred during the rental are the client's responsibility.
8. Governing law
This document is governed by Romanian law. Any dispute will be settled amicably or, failing an agreement, by the competent courts in Bucharest.
9. Prices and invoicing
Prices are shown in euro. Invoices are issued in lei (RON) at UniCredit Bank's EUR sell rate on the invoice date; the lei amount shown when booking is indicative.
